Exhibition Hey you what do you see? – november 24 – 25, 2012
For their first edition, HeadMade Factory – which gathers artists from different art disciplines in Saint Martin – launches a concept of event/exhibition with an approach that follows a logical sequence of three big goals.
It’s about:
- Organizing an artistic and cultural event in order to build an image of Saint Martin as a land of art and culture.
- Welcoming in Saint Martin some Contemporary Art and Caribbean Art experts for a roundtable on the theme “Tourism and contemporary creation”. This roundtable will take place on November 24 and 25, 2012 at the Centre Culture de Grand Case and will be the opportunity to launch the exhibition “Hey you? What do you see?” in the evening of November 24.
- Inviting these experts to visit 20 artists’ studios. These experts will then be able to discover the artists’ works and, depending on their choices, offer them openings inside the Caribbean and international artistic field of contemporary art.
HeadMade Factory made a bet that it would be possible to link tourism and art. Phrase à définir
It’s about offering a different tourism that, while being intended to develop the local economy, plans to highlight the creative potential of the local population. A potential that appears to be rich in multicultural meetings.
This project will give the youth the opportunity to reassert their self worth too often damaged.
